Diego & Google

Today Google is honoring Diego Rivera with an awesome illustration of his work.

He was such a talented artist and i loved learning about his work during my research at school. Here are a few of my favorites of his.

and a portrait of him and Frida.

I always loved to look at the work they created at the same time and one of the most striking situations was while they were living in Detroit.

Diego loved to represent the common worker. In Mexico that was the farmers and revolutionaries. While in America that was the factory workers. They are the machine of America and the ones building the cars to him.

While in Detroit Frida had a miscarriage that was very traumatic. And this is what she associates with Detroit, the sky and her unfortunate time at the Ford Hospital.

If you want to learn more about her & Diego the movie Frida with Selma Hayek is actually pretty accurate with her life story.
