The Great Gatsby

Can we just all take a deep breath and say finally this movie is here. Phew. This is my favorite book and I've been waiting for this movie to come out for over a year. (Post from February 2010 where I list it as a favorite book, and post from March 2012 where I talk about how much I want to see this movie.)

I trust Baz Lurhman to have made the movie of the summer and probably the year. Yeah I think it's going to be that good. Incase you never read this book, shame on you, its about two things. One trying to rekindle an old romance years later. And two how old money and new money clashed during the roaring 20's. 

This last one i just for laughs.

I'm freaking out about Gatsby. Every song I hear is perfect, the images are delightfully over the top. I just know this movie will earn Leo that Oscar he's deserved for years.

The Great Gatsby

Robert Redford as Jay Gatsby, with breathtaking views of Newport Rhode Island. What else do you need to know?

This movie isn't super close to the book (I expect the newest one to be almost word for word), but it's still very good. The first time I went to RI, I walked the cliff walk which goes right by the house they used in this movie. :)

MOVIES

So two movies that I've been dreaming about since I heard rumors of their filming are Great Gatsby and Les Miserables. And this weekend the trailers came out. So for your enjoyment here they are.

I cried in the movie theater when i saw the Les Mis trailer. True Story.
